I’m making good progress in the final showdown. I still need more time, but I’m happy with how it’s turning out and I’m excited to arrive at the end of The Weight of a Soul.
Progress
Not much to report: it’s chugging along the same way it always has. I wrote 5 sections of the final confrontation, and each one is a pretty meaty section that would take up a page in a book. It’s no NaNoWriMo word count padding but I’m confident that the quality of the prose will stand the test of editing and polish.
There are four main endings for The Weight of a Soul, which I can’t discuss here without spoiling the central twist and moral choice of the game. Suffice it to say that I’m almost done writing the dialogue in which Marid confronts the antagonist and justifies her choice, built up on all the experiences she’s gone through over the course of the game. Next week I’ll be finishing off the final confrontation dialogue, and then we’ll be moving into the four possible epilogues.
