What I Have Been Doing Since 2021

Oh boy, new content!

Hello to anyone who may be reading this. It’s been almost two years since I deigned to grace this blog with my presence, but I figured that I should at least check in once in a while.

After Spring Thing, I had a bad time and was diagnosed with generalized anxiety disorder, in which condition I graduated from university. Not quite sure what to do with myself, I:

  • sat at home and played a lot of video games
  • worked on some projects which I can’t discuss here for reasons
  • got a job at D.G.Ventures, and then lost it, because it turns out anxiety doesn’t mesh well with corporate life
  • got another job at Socean working on Pathfinders, which I have managed to retain to the present day.

In all this I somehow missed The Weight of a Soul getting three XYZZY awards and being nominated for a fourth. This is kind of a huge deal in the interactive fiction community, and I regret not being there when it was announced. It’s humbling to see so many people who have played my pet project and enjoyed it so much. From the bottom of my heart: thank you!

After this post I will probably vanish into obscurity once again, appearing on Twitter (I refuse to call it X) or other places only when my company coerces me to. Keeping a journal just isn’t my style, as I have discovered over many abortive attempts. But you can rest assured that I am doing fine and still kicking.
